WHAT IS HETKEN MATKA?
THE STORY OF THE HETKEN MATKA
Hetken Matka idea was developed in Nepal while trekking around Annapurna II mountain, 2017.
Hetken Matka company starts its activities in Syöte, in Finland, in 2018.
Hetken Matka start co-operation with Reiliseppo, Syötteen eräpalvelut, Iikphoto, AK design, Coronaria, Metsähallitus and Adventure Apes.
A short film called Arctic Utopias was made in 2021 and was shown in film festivals around the world. This film gets awards like ’eco-friendly film making’ from Verso. Film was directed and filmed together with Hetken Matka.
Produced by Hetken Matka, a full length documentary film called ”Just A Ride” gets ready in December 2022. The film has been filmed over 10 years and it shows beauty of the snowboarding and self healing.
Hetken Matka buys the basecamp and wooden tepee (goahti) located on the top of Teerivaara, next to the border of Syöte national park. The opening ceremony will be in December 2022.

Our criteria in Hetken Matka is to create sustainable local traveling company while taking care of nature and its well being.
We want to promote and respect nature and human’s well being on this planet earth.
We know that world is in crises and we also know that we are part of the problem.
We are ready to learn and share what we have already learnt.
We create new ways to do things so the future would be a better place for all of us.
